And Nic Stevens talks off the record.....
In this mock trial, I believe that the defendant, Tristan Marks, was
clearly guilty. I was on the prosecution’s side because I believe that enough
evidence and testimony was presented to the court to display that Tristan Marks
not only had access to oxycodone, but that it is true he gave the victim, Riley
Thomas, access to it as well. The defendant proved that he knew about the
oxycodone, and was willing to allow access to it to his friends. The evidence
that proved this was the text message the defendant sent to his friend, Charlie
Davis, about “scoring” the drug. And the EMT who arrived at the scene who specifically
heard the defendant say, “I should have never given Riley those pills.” Most
importantly, however, was the consistent testimony of the very experienced,
medical professional on the prosecution side who stated that there was a 99.7%
chance that Riley Thomas’ death was caused by the oxycodone found in his system.
