HAZING

Hazing is a problem that faces many unlucky students across the country. Hazing is harassment and is illegal. I intend to educate the reader as to why hazing is inappropriate in all scenarios.

Hazing is defined as a situation created intentionally to embarrass and ridicule usually new members of a certain group regardless of the individuals desire to participate. Hazing is a form of bullying that creates intense shame and humiliation. We can all do our part to prevent and stop hazing.

One thing we all can do is to not participate in bystander behavior, which is essentially seeing hazing happen and not doing anything to stop or prevent it from occurring. Also, we can report any hazing to officials that can see that just punishments are administered when the situation requires it. I ask that everyone do his or her part to prevent and stop hazing.
