Sexual Assault and Expulsion
Most sexual assault cases that involve college students do
not cause expulsion from the college.
Actually, the percentage of students that happen to get expelled is
smaller than 1/3 of the student population (Kingkade, 2014). Part of the
problem is that nobody really knows who should be handing out the punishments
to these students. Administrative leaders all agree that rapist students should
not be able to continue living on campus with the other students. Some select universities
found that instead of having students expelled, the consequence was being put
on probation and receiving a warning about their behavior (Kingkade, 2014). Administrative
leaders are just trying to find alternatives to the entire sexual assault
expulsion problem. The last thing that colleges and institutions want to do is expel
students. What is the solution? What do you think colleges and universities should
do about this problem?
