Interview with a juror.....

Coryn: How credible do you believe the witnesses were?

Gao (Juror): All the witnesses for both sides appeared to be credible based on their jobs and duties. The witnesses had knowledge about sexual assault victims but with this particular case, the witnesses were very one-sided. The defendant had hired a psychologist to be his expert witness, so it was hard to believe she wasn’t paid to say he was innocent.

Coryn: What kind of evidence was used to determine whether the defendant was guilty or innocent?

Gao (Juror): The evidence that we were allowed to see were pictures of a ripped shirt, the police report, and a journal entry from the victim. It didn’t seem as if it was substantial enough to find him guilty.

Coryn: What arguments convinced you to believe either side?

Gao (Juror): We found the defendant not guilty of the crime due to not having enough hard evidence. For the most part, the trial seemed like speculation.
