An Inside Expose' with the Defense Team
Being a lawyer in the
mock trial was tough work. Sandy Townsend had all the fingers pointed at her,
but my team of defense attorneys and myself, had to prove Sandy’s innocence.
First off, we did a lot of preparing and really looked at all the facts. We
believed Sandy was innocent from the beginning, but we needed proof. We
believed as a group that the detective actually killed Terese.
As a member of the defense, our team believed that the prosecution thought that the meat delivery guy, Pat
Gonzales, had killed Terese. As a group, we worked on this hunch and had over 175
questions for Detective Taylor. We believed Detective Taylor committed the
murder because he had no reason to jump into the Dumpster and also had a
problem with Sandy from previous encounters. We felt as Sandy’s attorneys that
Detective Taylor wanted to get even with her. Our evidence against Detective Taylor was that
there was a mysterious unknown fingerprint on the murder weapon, and we all
knew detective Taylor jumped in the Dumpster for no reason because he was
“suspicious something was in there”.
In conclusion, we won
the case because we were quick on our feet and we knew who was innocent. We proved Sandy Townsend is an upstanding
citizen, who always gives second chances and is so kind she would never even
hurt a fly.
