Using Pathos as a Means of Persuasion

I believe that the prosecution used pathos when the attorneys delivered their opening lines. The attorneys used emotional appeals to show that Terese Jameson was a caring mother, who was just trying to get her job back, so that she could support her son. The prosecution also talked about how Sandy Thompson didn’t like homeless people near his restaurant. By using pathos, the attorneys are trying to get the jury to feel sorry for her son, Mickey, who is now mother less. They are also trying to show Sandy as being a mean and horrible person in order to persuade the jury to convict him.
